Quantum technology encryption becomes commercially available

without comments

Encryption of data using quantum technology has (among others) one great advantage. Because of the properties of this technology, an encrypted message will change when tapped in to, thus rendering it impossible (for now) to have a peek at the encrypted stream.

Up until now quantum encryption technology was limited to labs and scientists, but no longer or so it seems.

I came across an article by Karen Epper Hoffman that better explains whats going on than I can. The concept of commercial availability of this kind of technology is scary to some I guess because of the possibility of near-perfect encryption, but a long time dream for many information security professionals like myself :-)
